Five appliance checks before you schedule service

Simple dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, and laundry checks carried forward from the legacy His Way FAQ.

Before a service appointment, a few simple checks can make the visit smoother. Keep a warm refrigerator running so the technician can diagnose it while the problem is active. For dryers, inspect the outside vent for lint obstruction and good airflow. For dishwashers, run water at the kitchen sink until hot before starting a cycle.

For laundry, use either liquid fabric softener or dryer sheets, not both. If you use dryer sheets, appliance manufacturers recommend cutting the sheet in half. His Way also recommends checking pockets carefully and using a small nylon mesh bag for small socks and similar items so they cannot enter the wash pump.
